Ladies, we hope to see you all at Bible study tomorrow night at Donna's house. This month, in lieu of our regular potluck meal, we are asking that you only bring light finger food/snack items. Don't miss out, Bible study starts at 7:00PM
Update: in addition to sheets, backpacks, and bug spray, the former residents of the homeless shelter need battery-powered fans (with batteries) and muscle shirts (all sizes). If you can provide any of these items, please bring them to church on Sunday.
Thank you to everyone who has already donated supplies to give to the homeless in Killeen. If anyone else wanted to give but had not brought it to the church yet, please bring it on Sunday and we will get it to them.
Happy Thursday, Crestview. You won't want to miss this Sunday's gathering. This week we take an intense look at Matthew 5:13-16 and Mark 4:21-25 and ask ourselves, individually, and as a church body, whether we are the "salt of the earth," or have we consumed with the world and become bland? Does our light shine in our community and beyond, or are we so focused on ourselves that we have "put it under a basket?" These are important questions for the believer and the church alike and we must wrestle with them for our good and the glory of God.
The ladies' Bible study tomorrow evening has been CANCELED!
Looking forward to this weekend and our 5th annual Crestview Family Camp. It looks like a record registration! Sorry the graphic is so late!
Bible study this evening is cancelled due to the possibility of severe weather.
What a glorious day it will be!
Let's see how we can help!
"Think about the gracious way God deals with us. Psalm 62:8 says, “Pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” When our kids pour out their hearts to us, do we listen? Do they see us as a refuge? The joy of obedience comes from feeling known. When we listen to our kids, we represent the God who listens to and knows us. Obedience flows from the joy of that deep, secure relationship."
Ladies, don't forget to register for the retreat! Monday is the deadline for Vanissa to receive the registration forms if you want to pay the lower rate as well as the deadline for her to take t-shirt orders. If you mail your forms at the post office today before 5:00 (Friday) and email her that they are on the way, she will accept the lower registration rate and t-shirt order. PM me (Maria) if you would like a digital copy of the registration form to print at home.
"It’s that experience of being subject to weakness that moves a priest to deal gently with people. Priests know how hard it is to live a holy life. They walk in human shoes, and they get how hard it is to do it well."
OOOHHHH
Hey there Crestview, here's a sneak peek at this Sunday's lesson as we continue our journey through 1 Corinthians. Last week we saw the horrors of the human condition in Adam; dead in sin, alienated from God, lost in ourselves, and at conflict with each other. This week we focus on the glorious hope of life in Christ. Being alive in Christ brings hope because it relies on the work of God, it removes our bondage of sin and binds us to righteousness, it alone reconciles us to one another, and it restores us to our intended purpose. As always, if you have a Bible-teaching, Christ-loving church family, we urge you to gather with them this coming Lord’s day. If you do not, we invite you to join us at Crestview. Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 AM followed by the worship gathering at 10:45.
Ladies, I hope to see you all at Bible study tonight at Donna's house. Join us for a potluck meal and Bible study at 7:00.
Hey there Crestview, We have been in contact with the Hope Pregnancy Center and have learned of a great opportunity to serve for the glory of God. HPC has asked if we have any women who are willing and able to serve as mentors to some of the young women who come to HPC for help. Please contact pastor Scott if this is something that you are interested in learning more about. We will be putting more information out about this opportunity in the coming days. This is a wonderful opportunity to not simply talk about being pro-life, but actually serving for that purpose and the good of others. "Unfortunately, today’s Western mind prizes autonomy and values privacy, and this has greatly affected how many Christians think about their relationship with other Christians. They tragically misunderstand that the Christian life is personal but not private."
Bible study was rescheduled for tonight. Hope you see you there!
